Go back and watch "Welcome to Our Branch Office" (Season 7).
Act 1. In writing, if one is writing about a bear, s/he is advised, first of all, to bring on the bear. What better bear is there than people taking pictures of the Five-0 office? Huh? Why would anyone want to take pictures of the Five-0 office? The audience has been captured.
Act 2. After being led through three instances of Bowman (Cameron Mitchell), et al trying to fleece reputable businessmen, we see him steal the henchmen's pay.
Act 3. . . . Except Stash (Frank Gorshin) outsmarts him and calls the real Five-0 and tells them where they can find Bowman. Both the real and the fake Five-0 take down Bowman at the airport.
Act 4. To put the frosting on the cake, McGarrett & Co let Bowman think he is telling his henchmen that they only collected $250K. When he has the information he needs, McGarrett shows Bowman who he has really been talking to. The cherry on top is when Bowman says, "Book me."
Now, that is fantastic writing! Bravo to Jerome Coopersmith!
